Hubble Reborn takes the reader on a journey through the Universe with spectacular full-colour pictures of galaxies, nebulae, planets and stars as seen through Hubble's eyes, along the way telling the dramatic story of the space telescope, including interviews with key scientists and astronauts.
Welcome
About the University
The Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moore's University runs a number of astronomy by distance learning courses. These are multimedia astronomy courses using interactive CD-ROM , videos, DVD's and photographic film material which the student can do at home for University credit. They have a number of courses designed to cover many aspects of astronomy. In addition to a detailed knowledge of astronomy, the courses enable the student to become familiar with the use of the world wide web and image processing.
Qualifications Required: School science or Maths (UK GCSE equivalent), although students without these qualifications will be considered if they have alternate experience.
Qualification Gained: A Certificate of Professional Development in Astronomy will be awarded for the successful completion of the course. Each module is assigned 12 credit points that can also be used to build up credits towards other academic qualifications at Liverpool John Mores University and other universities
John Mores University Provide a CD-ROM containing course software, all other necessary materials which may include videos, audio CD's, photographic plates, DVD's magnifier, etc. In addition the university provides full astronomy for the duration of the course (by, post, e-mail, telephone and fax) and a news group for each course for student discussion.

About the Website

The purpose of this website is to chronicle my activities as I attempt to secure a Certificate of Higher Education in Astronomy. It is also intended to be the main place that course work is submitted to the university.
It is hoped that as others use this website it will encourage them to take on something similar. My feelings are that if I can do it so can many others.
Please feel free to make first contact
as, like Seti as it probes the depths of space, I would be excited to receive a signal from other intelligence on the third rock from the Sun. You can do so by clicking here
